Following on from my last blog post, here are some more images from my last Brisbane studio shoot. This gorgeous girl really should be a model as she is such a natural in front of the camera.

What to Wear – Boudoir photo shoot Brisbane
Here are some more ideas on outfits to bring to your boudoir photo shoot Brisbane.
Bodysuit
This is such a simple outfit that ladies may not even think of when planning their boudoir outfits, but it is a great choice and has an ‘effortlessly sexy’ look about it.
Mismatch bras and undies
Again, another thing that ladies may not have considered themselves, but if you like to mix things up and be a bit different then this is a great way to be sexy and unique at the same time.
Net bodystocking
This outfit is not for the faint at heart. You have to be quite daring to go for an outfit like this, but if your aim is to be provocative then this is a great outfit choice. It is also a good choice if you are using your photos for promotional purposes and want to wear something different, as there are many styles available – net dresses, bodysuits or bodystockings. These aren’t usually found at your shopping centre lingerie stores. Instead you will want to search online sites such as www.yandy.com, www.fantasylingerie.com.au or visit your local sex shop.
Dress up outfits
Another great idea if you are wanting a unique outfit for your shoot. There are so many styles to choose from. You will find dress up outfits at lingerie stores like Bras n things, online lingerie shops and sex shops.

Brisbane boudoir photoshoot – City hotel room
I loved shooting this lovely lady for the third time recently. I’ve been photographing her every year for the last few years and it is always great to catch up. This time, she decided to have her boudoir photoshoot at a Brisbane City hotel room.
The hotel room decor was lovely, especially the striking gold bedhead. I am also in love with this bright pink lingerie set from Bras n Things. It is an amazing cleavage enhancer so I promptly went out and bought one for myself. Sexy hair and makeup was done by makeup artist Tara.
Most of my clients are previous clients or referrals and I am very appreciative that ladies choose to have me photograph them again, and also refer their friends.
Did you know that even though I have a Brisbane home studio I also shoot on location? This might be at a hotel, your home or beach location in Brisbane, the Gold Coast or Sunshine Coast. If you have always wanted to do a glamour shoot I’d love to photograph you!

Brisbane glamour photography of a beautiful inked girl
These images were taken at a hotel shoot weekend – where I book a hotel room and clients can use the hotel room, at no cost, for their Brisbane glamour photography shoot. We were lucky enough to have both a huge balcony and beautiful natural light in the hotel room – two things I always look for when hiring a room to photograph in.
Here are just some of the beautiful images of Miss J that were taken recently. Her tattoos are amazing, especially her Wonder Woman tattoo.
Thanks to Shannon of Shannon Jennings Makeup for the hair and makeup for these images.

Behind the scenes at a boudoir photo shoot
Well I’ve been meaning to do a behind the scenes video for two years now. It has taken me a little while to get around to it. To be honest I was dreading it – because I had to be in front of the camera for once. And us photographers don’t like to be on the other side of the camera.
Thanks to my videographer, Kathryn of Oh Lola Productions. And to my model Jen, who is a hair and makeup artists for Nikki Brown Photography and kindly offered to model.
This is a my behind the scenes video – giving you an idea of what your boudoir shoot will be like at Nikki Brown Photography.

Why I wish I had done a bridal boudoir shoot
On my wedding day, my wedding photographer asked me if I would like some photos in my lingerie before I put on my wedding dress. “You’ll never look this good again” he said to me. “No way” I replied. Partly because he was male and I didn’t feel comfortable. But if I’m honest it was also because I saw so many flaws in myself and I was sure that someday I would look much better and then I would do it. You know what they say about ‘someday’ … that it never comes.
I was 21 years old at the time. What a gift that would have been. Yes obviously to my husband, but even more so to me. What a gift to myself – to have had images from that time to look back on.
As women, we are always looking at our faults. In our eyes, we will never be good enough. What I hadn’t realised was that I didn’t have to look like a model or have the perfect body to have beautiful photographs. I just had to have a photographer who knew how to pose me and use flattering camera angles. Who could guide me on what clothing to wear that would best flatter my figure.
A couple of months before your wedding is the perfect time to book in your bridal boudoir photoshoot. You deserve beautiful images of yourself, and you are perfect NOW. Be kind to yourself.
I saw this online and it really resonated with me.

Brisbane boudoir photography for Inked Girls
The combination of the modern hotel room, gorgeous natural light and my beautiful client really did inspire me during this Brisbane boudoir photography shoot.
There is something absolutely beautiful about white sheets. I honestly could shoot for the rest of the year with just white sheets and not get bored. That is how much I love them. Lots of times girls bring so many clothes to their shoot but, in my opinion, simple can often work best.
This photo shoot was done just for a client, however during the shoot I realised it would also be the perfect fit for Inked Girls magazine.
I always feel anticipation and excitement when an Inked Girls issue comes out as I never know which of my images will make it into the magazine, until I actually see the magazine! I always send a sample of images from the shoot to the editor and, if she likes them, she will narrow them down to 8 or so images to be retouched for the magazine. Although I know it will be some of those, it’s always exciting to open the magazine and see what has actually been selected. I loved the ones chosen from this shoot.

Swimsuit shoot clothing choices
I always try to educate my clients on clothing choices to bring to their shoot. I find that otherwise girls will just bring bikinis to a beach shoot, although there are many different choices available to make your shoot look more interesting. Here are a couple of ideas to spice up your swimsuit shoot, courtesy of Seafolly and model Gigi Hadid.
I love these rash vests currently on sale by Seafolly. They can be zipped down to give a super sexy look. And these Daisy Duke shirts are also great over a bikini, giving a natural girl next door look.

Bridal boudoir photography – Brisbane, Gold Coast, Sunshine Coast and Townsville
Bridal boudoir photography really is the ideal gift for your groom. I loved photographing this gorgeous bride-to-be recently. She wanted to create a gorgeous album to give to her groom on their wedding day. I can guarantee that no guy will ever be disappointed receiving one of these albums and sure enough he absolutely loved it.
If you are getting married shortly then why not organise a bridal boudoir shoot? It is a wonderful momento of how beautiful you looked at the time of your wedding. After all, chances are you have been working really hard to look good for your wedding, so it is really the perfect time for a boudoir shoot. Not to mention that you and your husband will cherish the photos for years to come.
I love incorporating white lingerie and your engagement ring into my bridal boudoir photo shoots. You are also welcome to bring any other items that would make the photos more special for you – so bring along your bridal veil and garter too.
Make sure to book your bridal boudoir shoot a couple of months prior to your wedding date, to allow plenty of time to receive your final album, so you can surprise your groom with it on your wedding day.
