When this gorgeous lady emailed me about doing some boudoir photos for her husband she mentioned that she might just want to focus on sexy shots in white sheets, wearing red lipstick and nothing else …. I had always wanted to do that exact style, so I was in heaven!
This lovely client is a talented hairdresser with her own home salon, so she did her own hair and makeup for the shoot. I always give the option for clients to do their own hair and makeup if they would like to save the money, rather than having it included with the shoot fee.
The famous Marilyn Monroe white sheet shots were my inspiration for the shoot. This beautiful client has become my muse – she is so fun to photograph and such a natural in front of the camera. I think white sheet shots are so timeless, and the touch of red is very hot. I adore them! What do you think?

This past month I have received wonderful testimonials from two of my bridal boudoir photography clients. For those that aren’t aware, bridal boudoir means they are surprising their fiancé with boudoir photos as their wedding day gift.
The first was from Steph, who wrote:
I just wanted to say thank you so much for the shoot on Sunday. I never imagined that I could feel so comfortable in my own skin – not even walking around in my granny undies at home, let alone in a room with another human that wasn’t my partner AND a camera! I realised that you made me feel like the person my partner always sees me as but that I’m often so critical of. Thank you. I really really enjoyed myself and I can’t wait to see the photos!
And another testimonial from Rachael:
Thank you so much I love the photos they are perfect!!! I honestly didn’t think I would love photos of myself soo much but I do thanks to you!!! This experience has given me so much more confidence in myself that I didn’t have before!! I have been telling all my friends that they have to do a shoot cause it’s so empowering!! You are amazing at what you do!! Thank you so much!!
I would love to share some photos from both their shoots but their weddings are still upcoming and I don’t want to ruin their fiance’s surprise! However to view more of my bridal boudoir work visit: www.nikkibrown.com.au/galleries/bridal-boudoir
Wow, how fast did last year go? Not to mention the Christmas holidays! Well I feel wonderfully refreshed and ready to greet the year with open arms.
I have one new years resolution this year and that is to to focus more on Bridal Boudoir Photography. Creating stunning images for brides to share with their partners on their wedding day is definitely a passion of mine. So if you are a Brisbane, Gold Coast or Townsville bride look no further 🙂
For Townsville bride-to-bes, or any Townsville ladies looking for a boudoir photo shoot, I will be photographing at a modern hotel room on Saturday 1 April and Sunday 2 April. Get in touch for more information and times.
This gorgeous lady recently had a bridal boudoir shoot done. I am sure you will agree, she will make such a stunning bride! Her hair and makeup was done by the wonderful Erin White. Erin has since relocated from Townsville to Melbourne if anyone is looking for an amazing hair and makeup artist – I will definitely miss working with her!

On my wedding day, my wedding photographer asked me if I would like some photos in my lingerie before I put on my wedding dress. “You’ll never look this good again” he said to me. “No way” I replied. Partly because he was male and I didn’t feel comfortable. But if I’m honest it was also because I saw so many flaws in myself and I was sure that someday I would look much better and then I would do it. You know what they say about ‘someday’ … that it never comes.
I was 21 years old at the time. What a gift that would have been. Yes obviously to my husband, but even more so to me. What a gift to myself – to have had images from that time to look back on.
As women, we are always looking at our faults. In our eyes, we will never be good enough. What I hadn’t realised was that I didn’t have to look like a model or have the perfect body to have beautiful photographs. I just had to have a photographer who knew how to pose me and use flattering camera angles. Who could guide me on what clothing to wear that would best flatter my figure.
A couple of months before your wedding is the perfect time to book in your bridal boudoir photoshoot. You deserve beautiful images of yourself, and you are perfect NOW. Be kind to yourself.
I saw this online and it really resonated with me.
