Townsville boudoir photographer – April Photo Shoot

I love being a Townsville boudoir photographer. This beautiful lady was one of my recent Townsville clients and she kindly said that I could share her photos. I always give clients the choice if they would like to keep their images private due to the nature of photography, and many do choose to keep them private. However it is great to be able to showcase my work when given the opportunity. Hair and makeup was by Erin White who did a fantastic job.

I will next be visiting Townsville on the weekend of Saturday 1 October and Sunday 2 October. Most of the Saturday spots are taken, however there are still a couple of spots available on Sunday. All clients receive a private 2 hour shoot.

This will be my last visit for 2016 and a great time to get some boudoir photographs done as a Christmas present for yourself or your significant other. I book a Townsville hotel room for the weekend to photograph at, so no need to worry about whether your house is a suitable location for your boudoir shoot.

Brisbane boudoir studio – recently refurbished

Ever since I moved into my home studio, the aim has been to have a chandelier. Well after 6 months of patiently waiting, my Brisbane boudoir studio finally has one. I am really happy with the elegant look it will add to my boudoir shoots.

It has been a busy week here, not only do I have a new chandelier, but the studio walls have also received a fresh coat of paint. There has also been a reverse cycle airconditioner added. This will be fantastic to keep my clients nice and comfortable during their boudoir shoot – whether heated during winter, or cool through the summer months.

I have recently purchased other items, including an occasional chair and various furs and throws. There is also a new studio background for those clients requiring beauty shots or headshots.

When was the last time you were comfortable in your own skin?

I love this – definitely worth a watch but keep those tissues handy!

Gold Coast swimsuit photography at The Spit

For Gold Coast swimsuit photography you always have your fingers crossed that there will be no rain or storms on the day of the shoot. If there is likely to be rain, I am always happy to reschedule the morning of the shoot.

So we were really lucky on this day to have the most beautiful weather and clear blue skies. There was also very little wind, which is a rarity at the Spit on the Gold Coast.

Thanks to Miss J for making this a fun swimsuit photography shoot – it was lovely to see her again and it is such a privilege to be chosen to take photos for her a second time.

Brisbane glamour photography of a beautiful inked girl

These images were taken at a hotel shoot weekend – where I book a hotel room and clients can use the hotel room, at no cost, for their Brisbane glamour photography shoot. We were lucky enough to have both a huge balcony and beautiful natural light in the hotel room – two things I always look for when hiring a room to photograph in.

Here are just some of the beautiful images of Miss J that were taken recently. Her tattoos are amazing, especially her Wonder Woman tattoo.

New Brisbane boudoir studio

Over Christmas I moved into a new home studio, located at Mansfield in Brisbane. I love French Provincial style furniture so I have been busy decorating , with my favourite piece being a beautiful French bedhead I had delivered from Sydney, which is just perfect for boudoir shoots.

The lower level is entirely dedicated to my photography – it consists of two studio rooms, a client bathroom and my office space. My husband has been busy giving my studio a fresh paint, and I can’t thank him enough for giving up his free time on weekends.

I have been a photographer for over 15 years, so to have a dedicated studio space has been a dream of mine for some time. I’m so excited for 2016 and the beautiful photos I will create in my new space!

Perfection is the disease of a nation

Julia Roberts wrote this on her Facebook recently and it caused quite a response:

“Perfection is a disease of a nation. We overlay our faces with tons of make-up. We get botox and even starve ourselves to become that perfect size. We try to fix something but you can’t fix what you can’t see. It’s the soul that needs the surgery. It’s time that we take a stand. How can you expect someone else to love you if you don’t love yourself? You have to be happy with yourself. It doesn’t matter what you look like on the outside, it’s whats on the inside that counts. Today, I want to put up a makeup-free photo. I know I have wrinkles on my skin but today I want you to see beyond that. I want to embrace the real me and I want you to embrace who you are, the way you are, and love yourself just the way you are.”

Some of Julia’s words came from a song written by Sia and sung by Beyoncé called ‘Pretty Hurts’. It is a beautiful song about loving and accepting yourself. I love this version of it by singer Louisa Wendorff.

Behind the scenes at a boudoir photo shoot

Well I’ve been meaning to do a behind the scenes video for two years now. It has taken me a little while to get around to it. To be honest I was dreading it – because I had to be in front of the camera for once. And us photographers don’t like to be on the other side of the camera.

Miss Ink Brisbane 2015 competition

Would you like to compete for the title of Miss Ink Brisbane 2015 and Miss Tattoo Brisbane 2015? It is being held at The Zoo nightclub on Saturday 8 August.

Competitors will compete in 3 pageantry rounds – casual wear, formal wear, swimwear – and will be judged by a panel of experts from within the tattoo, modeling, and/or fashion industries.

There will also be plenty of live entertainment provided throughout the night including a live band performance.
